Engadine Bowling & Recreation Club Ltd is seeking applications for the role of Head Greenkeeper.
Located on the Southern edge of Sydney, and only a 40-minute drive from Wollongong, the Club is a dynamic, family-friendly venue, with a strong bowling history. The Club has three championship standard greens, along with a large garden and outdoor space to maintain. We also have agreements with Wiseman's Park Wollongong City Bowling Club (WPWC) and Club Kirrawee as contract greenkeepers which provide an additional revenue stream for the Club.
We are looking for a passionate and energetic team leader, with a focus on high standards and personnel management. The role will report directly to the General Manager and work alongside the Management Team to deliver our bowls programs. You will also liaise directly with the Management of WPWC and Club Kirrawee for their respective venues. Leading a team of four other employees (two tradesmen and two apprentices), you will be responsible for coordinating their rosters to maintain operations at the other two venues.
You will be required to show the following skills and attributes:
Develop, implement and have confidence to deliver on all directives, strategies and agreed initiatives.Lead the team to deliver on results and standards.Be a visible leader for both your team and members of the club.Develop and manage expense budgets across all three venues.Analyse all areas of expenditure through cost/benefit analysis including presenting results to the General Manager where required.Demonstrate excellent communication skills with all related parties.Achieve successful negotiations with all suppliers and contractors.Ensure compliance across all areas of the operation.Excellent knowledge of turf maintenance machinery including setting and oversight of maintenance program.Experience in setting chemical and fertiliser programs to identify and control weeds, pests and fungal disease.Strong WHS knowledge and processes including safe storage and use of chemicals.You are required to currently hold a minimum of:
