Job DescriptionHead Coach – Diving at the Western Australian Institute of Sport (WAIS) (Short Term Contract) WAIS is on the hunt for a Head Coach for our Diving program to lead the high-performance daily training environment that develops WAIS divers for senior national squad selection and international success.
You'll be creating effective working relationships with WAIS performance support disciplines and proactively collaborating with Diving Australia and Diving WA to align the Diving Australia performance pathway.
You'll also be required to provide leadership to the development and growth of the performance pathway within Western Australia including taking the lead with talent identification initiatives.
The position is available initially on a short-term contract basis through to 31 October 2025 with the potential to extend.
Role Overview: In this role your key areas of responsibility encompass:
Athlete wellbeing and performanceProviding Leadership in performance pathway in Western AustraliaDeveloping and maintaining meaningful and effective engagement with stakeholders for the program.About you: You are committed to upholding Australia's High Performance Win Well pledge putting athlete wellbeing at the forefront of your role.You have a minimum of 3 years' experience coaching national/international level diving athletes and a minimum of Level 2 Diving Australia Coaching qualifications (or equivalent)You have a record of coaching athletes to podium performanceYou have previous experience implementing talent identification programsYou have amazing interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with athletes, colleagues and external stakeholders alike.You can demonstrate your technical and tactical knowledge across diving disciplines with a strong understanding of key lever for achieving skills progression and acquisition.You have or are able to attain a Working with Children Check and National Police Criminal History check.Above all else, you are a genuine team player that cares about others and always acts with kindness and integrity.Applicants will need to have a visa with full working rights to be eligible for this role.If you're ticking all the boxes above and you're ready to make a meaningful impact to the Diving program at WAIS, we want to hear from you!
