It is home to 400 full-time residential students along with day students and hosts a range of events. The college has clear expectations for excellence in all areas of in-house dining and event catering.We are seeking a highly experienced Head Chef to join our company and lead a dedicated kitchen team while delivering exceptional food in a fast-paced production, dining room, and events kitchen environment. This role will report directly to the Venue Manager. You will be part of the business planning, designing, and decision-making of the menu development and the general operation in this prestigious venue.This is a hands-on role, but you will be backed by a strong and experienced team allowing you to strategically work 'on' the business as well as 'in' it. Key performance areas will include quality control and menu delivery for over 200 events per year, purchasing, cost control, and compliance.The Head Chef will bring strength of understanding in production techniques to get the best of the state-of-the-art equipment efficiently delivering 1200 plus tasty and nutritious meals per day for boarders and staff. A natural leader, you will need to be comfortable in communicating clear goals for your team and attending meetings with the client and your head office support.Key Responsibilities:Minimum 5 years Head Chef experience across several types of professional cookery that may include restaurants, 5-star hotels, corporate, and event catering.Extensive experience working in a fast-paced, high-output production environment.The ability to achieve business goals, financial budgets, and quality standards.Experience in a similar role at a premium college is preferred.Lead and inspire teams to create a professional, safe, and harmonious brigade.Proficient in the design and cost planning of dining room (production), function, special events, and canapé menus.Strong creativity and ability to think outside the box while coaching and developing a team.Demonstrated ability to manage associated kitchen costs and wages.Extensive, current, and active knowledge and passion for quality produce, industry trends, and advanced cookery techniques, including management of allergens.Experience in compliance and maintenance of a fully HACCP approved workplace and industry-standard safe work practices.Requirements include a current Working with Children's check.What can we offer you?The opportunity to join Australia's leading service providers where career opportunities are endless.The chance to join a great team who will keep you busy, work hard but have fun in a supportive team environment.Submit an updated resume and application letter by clicking the apply button.
