The Role The Head Chef will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our extended hours and business growth initiatives.
As the creative and operational leader in the kitchen, they will oversee the development of innovative menus tailored to the expanded schedule, including new breakfast, lunch, and grab-and-go options that cater to a broader audience.
Their expertise in managing kitchen operations, maintaining high-quality standards, and ensuring efficient workflows will be instrumental in handling increased demand.
Additionally, the Head Chef's ability to inspire and lead the team will foster a positive environment that supports seamless service throughout the day, helping us maximize customer satisfaction and achieve our business goals.
Upon successful employment, a detailed project plan outlining kitchen and business goals will be provided to ensure a clear understanding of expectations and objectives.
This plan will include specific targets such as menu development timelines, strategies to improve cabinet offerings, steps to boost lunch trade, and operational goals to support the café's extended hours.
Additionally, it will detail key performance indicators (KPIs) for the kitchen, including food cost management, waste reduction, and team productivity metrics.
We are seeking an experienced and confident leader who can commit to a minimum 12-month tenure, ensuring consistency and stability during this exciting period of growth.

As our Lead Chef, you will:
Run the kitchen : Oversee daily kitchen operations, including rosters, staffing, and team management.
Innovate menus : Design and implement seasonal menus and exciting daily specials that keep our offerings fresh and creative.
Enhance grab-and-go offerings : Improve the quality and variety of our cabinet goods, creating appealing options for on-the-go customers.
Boost lunch and night trade : Collaborate with the team to develop enticing lunch and dinner dishes that drive afternoon business and expand our customer base.
Maintain standards : Ensure all dishes meet our quality standards and that the kitchen is always compliant with health and safety regulations.

Have proven experience as a Lead Chef or similar leadership role with references Be highly organized, with excellent time management and multitasking skills.
