The Role: We are seeking a caring and dedicated Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and provide well-presented and nutritious meals in a home-like environment to meet the nutritional needs of our residents.
Duties Lead the kitchen team ensuring the efficient functioning of kitchen and catering services. Train and supervise the kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and inclusive workplace. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including the Aged Care Quality Standards. Develop and implement menus that cater for our residents' various dietary requirements, including texture modified diets. Plan and prepare well-balanced and nutritious meals for our residents. Liaise with residents, families, and the care team to ensure residents' dietary, individual, and cultural needs and preferences are met. Comply with all infection control and food safety procedures. Perform administrative duties related to the kitchen operation such as managing a budget, stock taking and ordering supplies, food quality assessments, and rostering. Skills and Experience Previous experience in the preparation and delivery of meals within a similar environment. Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent. Skilled in leading and training kitchen staff. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to solve problems independently. Ability to work independently as well as part of a great team. Flexibility to work on rotating shifts morning, afternoon Mon-Sun. An understanding of Resident Rights, Aged Care Accreditation Standards and Outcomes. What you will need: Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent. Food Safety Supervisor Course.
