Fulltime employment including leave for all of life's planned (annual leave) and unplanned (personal leave) events.About the role:Diagnose, overhaul, repair, tune, maintain and test diesel and petrol/gas-powered heavy equipment including trucks, buses, dozers and other earthmoving equipment.Detect mechanical and electrical faults by using instruments that check charging and starting circuitry, batteries, ignition and ignition timing, fuel injection systems and speed control, cylinder compression, engine condition, braking efficiency, and wheel balance and alignment.Repair and maintain the hydraulic components of diesel and petrol/gas engines that are used to power attachments such as hoists, booms, scrapers, buckets and augers.Completing break down works, general servicing, and component change outs.What we are looking for: Demonstrable experience working on mobile surface equipment (MEM)Experience on Caterpillar, Hitachi and Komatsu Mining Equipment. Previous experience working on a mine site and with diagnosing and repairing mining equipment.Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology / Engineering - Mechanical Trade (Mobile Plant Mechanic) / Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology.Air Conditioning & Refrigeration licence (Desirable)Valid Manual C Class Driver's Licence.Ability to pass pre-employment medical.What SMS can offer: At SMS we pride ourselves on our positive work culture and ability to deliver desired results.
