The Benefits Start: Novemeber 2024 $28.69 per hour + Pastoral Award – Level 2 Duration: 4 Years Working in animal welfare Physical, hands-on work Work in a team environment Job Description Our client is an industry leading agribusiness with sophisticated poultry operations located in Goulburn and surrounds.
They are currently looking to fill 10 hatchery assistant positions across their farming sites and grading floor, with work commencing from Novemeber 2024 onwards.
You are required to work in poultry environment where dust and the smell of livestock is present.
Not afraid of getting your hands dirty, you will be comfortable working with live and deceased birds; all animals must be handled gently and compassionately.
You will be a team player who is physically fit and more than able to handle heavy lifting.
You will be paid under Pastoral Award – Level 2, an hourly rate of $28.69 per hour, with a minimum of 38 hours of work, per week.
This will be aligned with the Fair Work Commission's annual reviews, including any increases to the National Minimum Wage and minimum award rates of pay.
You will be offered between 1-4 years of work with potential to upskill.
Key duties include: * Cleaning and disinfection of the hatchery * De-toeing and vaccination * Operation of Machinery i.e Novatech * Transfer, load setters/hatchers * Count and grade chicks * Prepare chick rooms for hatch day * General routine maintenance * Manual transfer of chicks to on trucks * Calibration of incubators Characteristics and Aptitudes: To be considered for the roles, it's important you are committed to maintaining animal welfare standards and meet the following criteria: * Knowledge and understanding of the Animal Welfare codes * Good understanding of equipment and environmental management * Clear communication and reporting skills * Ability to interpret data, data entry * Good knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety * No asthma or dust allergies * Physically fit and comfortable in carrying out labour intensive duties * A team player and happy working with a multicultural team Choose Agri Labour Australia Agri Labour Australia is an award-winning Australian company with clients in every State and Territory.
