We are seeking Harvest Supervisors to join our operations within the Emerald region.
Award wages $34 to $37 an hour depending on experience 38 hour week minimum We are seeking experienced Harvest supervisors to join our seasonal harvest operations at our Selma Road, Lochearn, Harts Road and Conighans farming operations on a Full-Time basis.
Operating as a part of our front-line leadership in our Harvest Management team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our annual crop harvest activities are smooth, efficient and generate high quality produce.
Harvest generally occurs between March and September of each year.
Working days include Monday to Saturday, with occasional work on Sundays.
About the Role Provide guidance to our Seasonal Worker Lead Hands on appropriate harvest practices Ensure that all harvest related equipment is maintained to a high-standard Ensure that produce is not affected by improper harvest practices Manage operational activities for your assigned site, under the guidance of the Harvest Manager and the Farm Manager Implement the post-harvest and pre-harvest programs Identify signs of pest and disease, raising to the agronomy team Ensure chemicals are appropriately carried, stored and applied, with relevant PPE being used at all times Prepare chemicals for application, under the guidance of the agronomy team Provide advice to the Harvest Manager and the Farm Manager on pre- and post-harvest horticultural practices to ensure a high quality of produce About You 3+ years experience in supervising workers in harvesting citrus Experience in spray operator is desirable Experience in identifying pest and disease in citrus is desirable Ability to demonstrate leadership amongst the team Ability to teach and coach international workers Understanding of safe working practices as it relates to farm operations People are the heart of Costa.
