Role Overview
The Supervisor of Quarry Operations plays a pivotal role in supporting all operational areas of Council in the planning, coordination, and allocation of resources. This unique opportunity is for a driven Quarry supervisor to join our team on a permanent basis, overseeing the day-to-day operations including plant, operators, materials, quarries, and pits. The role supports the Coordinator Quarry Operations in providing complete functionality of support to the entire Council operation and maximises the efficiency of these assets. Through effective planning and processes, this diverse role will support the Site Senior Executive (SSE) in ensuring all safety, environmental, and legislative requirements are met across all of Council's Quarries and Pits.
Passion for safety – previous employment in a zero-harm culture. Extensive experience in the management of plant and materials used in the civil construction industry. Experience in the production and transport of materials, including programming and scheduling. Demonstrated ability in leadership and management of teams. Demonstrated experience of working in a team environment, and autonomously to achieve the best outcomes. Intermediate computer literacy and experience in using handheld computer devices. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, keen attention to detail, and advanced planning and organisation skills. Demonstrated ability to implement and foster a customer service culture. Knowledge of contract management, plant hire, procurement, and probity. Flexible with work hours. Queensland 'C' Class driver's licence that is current and maintained. Experience in a supervisory role in a mine or quarry (Mining Supervisor - G1, G8, G9 (S1, 2, 3) and Risk Facilitator - G2). Construction Industry White/Blue card. Position Description
