About See Differently with the Royal Society for the Blind: We've been around for 140 years. Over that time, we've seen and learnt a lot, making us the most experienced and knowledgeable provider of vision services in South Australia. We're the largest provider in South Australia, offering support that ranges from guide dogs to assistive technologies.
The opportunity: See Differently is looking for a full-time Guide Dog Mobility Instructor to work as part of the Guide and Assistance Dog Team. As a GDMI, you will enhance independence and mobility for individuals with vision impairment, providing expert guidance and training in a supportive and professional environment.
Your duties will include: Train and match guide dogs with clients, ensuring tailored mobility solutionsProvide ongoing support and training to clients with vision impairmentsCollaborate with our dedicated team to deliver the highest quality of care and serviceSkills and experience: Current satisfactory DHS screening and National Police Clearance or willingness to obtainQualification in guide dog mobility instruction from an International Guide Dog Federation (IGDF) accredited organisation and 3+ years experienceAbility to analyse and assess individual dogs and carry out a tailored training programSkilled in determining the needs, abilities, suitability, and potential of new or existing clientsKnowledge to evaluate all relevant client information and identify ideal dog type within specific timeframesAbility to plan and organise work activities to ensure safety and welfare of self, clients, and othersMust be physically fit and capable of walking 10+km per dayWhat we can offer you: Relocation costs supported for successful candidates from interstate and overseasA supportive, collaborative team environment with opportunities to participate in staff eventsAccess to our Employee Assistance ProgramAttractive salary with the benefit of salary packaging to increase your take-home pay (All staff have access to up to $15,900 tax-free, and a further $2500 tax-free for meal and entertainment purchases)Fully maintained company vehicle17.5% annual leave loadingWhy Adelaide?
