Job Description To reduce our dependence on rainfall and groundwater and support the growing population, Water Corporation has formed the Alkimos SeaWater Alliance, which includes ACCIONA Construction Australia, ACCIONA Agua, and Jacobs.
The Alkimos SeaWater Alliance project will deliver WA's next major water source - a new seawater desalination plant at Alkimos. At completion of stage 1, the plant will supply up to 50 billion litres of clean, safe drinking water to millions of Western Australians each year. The project includes the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of the plant with first production in 2028. Works include marine works and tunnels, seawater intake system, a seawater reverse osmosis desalination plant, groundwater system, drinking water storage, and pump system, supported by civil, electrical, and bulk earthworks.
To complete the installation of the glass reinforced pipes, we are looking for a supervisor with GRP installation experience to manage the delivery of this critical package of works.
Key Responsibilities Ensure that the GRP installation process is done as per the approved isometrics, drawings, and method statements.Monitor the GRP installation process in relation to the program.Ensure that all material used during the installation is according to the technical specifications and follows the QC requirements.Check and follow the technical delivery information with the design team to ensure that the manufacturing drawings are elaborated and approved on time.Revise the GRP pipe spools before their installation to assure the dimensions are according to the approved drawings.Monitor the ITPs related to the GRP installation including the site pressure tests, etc.Manage the piping installation subcontractors on site to assure proper pipe installation.Weekly reporting on pipe installation status.Required Skills and Competencies General experience in GRP pipe and GRP pipe pre-spooling.Experience in GRP pipe installation on site, lamination by butt & wrap jointing method, and repair procedures.Skill in interpretation and understanding of isometric pipe drawings, 3D models, and other technical drawings related to the GRP pipes.Methodical person with the ability to manage technical documents and procedures.Good communication skills and ability to transmit and explain technical information.What we offer
