Expressions of interest are sought for a suitably qualified and highly motivated individual to become part of the Rex Human Factors Group (comprising of Safety, QA/Compliance, Security and Human Factors training) as a Group Workplace Health Safety & Environment (WHSE) Coordinator based in Sydney.
Reporting To: This position reports directly to the Group Safety Manager and indirectly to the Group Compliance & QA Manager
Position Responsibilities: Coordinating and facilitating timely, WHSE advice and assistance to managers/supervisors across the Group for WHSE matters Analysing WHSE data to monitor accident and incident trends, along with relevant injury reports, to provide reports as necessary Coordinating and attending Local WHSE meetings with applicable staff and company representatives Providing minutes and an executive summary at appropriate Safety Management Group meetings Ensuring that reporting requirements are met for post incident / accident circumstances across the Group Assisting with the completion of WHS investigations Assisting with the closing of WHSE audit findings Monitoring staff / Visitor / Contractor and Property / Security / Hazard incident reports to ensure that incidents / accidents are appropriately investigated by the provision of support to managers and supervisors (as required) Providing WHSE auditing services to ensure that the organisation is able to meet its auditing requirements in line with Ministry of Health requirements. Facilitating and supporting managers to utilise the Chemical Management System Tracking of applicable licensing for Radiation Safety Maintaining a professional and consultative relationship with elected HSR representatives, WHS Committee members, to coordinate WHS activities and monitor WHS related matters Making sure that the organisation is aware of, and complies with, all legislation in relation to the use of its plant, equipment and substances, as well as in all workplace activities Conducting investigations of accidents and unsafe working conditions, studying possible causes and recommending remedial actions Developing training program(s) for management, supervisors and workers on health and safety procedures Developing and reviewing work health and safety and environment system documentation such as, policies, procedures and manuals Releasing safety promotion initiatives for WHSE Selection Criteria High attention to detail and accuracy; Proven organisational abilities; Working knowledge, education and experience on WHSE matters; Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment; Highly developed written communication skills, with demonstrated report writing ability; Ability to hold key appointment on WHSE matters (as required by state or Federal legislations) Capable of developing and delivering applicable training courses Conditions: Conditions and salary will be discussed with successful applicant.
