Full time.This is a rare opportunity to join the largest First Nations Corporation in Australia as the Group Retail Operations Manager.
This is a Darwin-based role.About the role:We are looking for a very structured, strong retail leader to lead six area managers to drive operational excellence.
You will travel to some of the most remote parts of the Northern Territory and Far North Queensland to support compliance, growth, and improvement and build relationships with critical stakeholders.
You will need to quickly become culturally aware and understand the dynamics of each remote community in which we operate.Key responsibilities:Provide leadership and coaching to newly appointed and experienced area managers whilst responding to critical operational needs in a timely and empathetic manner.Work closely with the General Manager Retail to deliver on business and retail strategies.Physically visit all stores and communities at least once during the financial year and initiate actions required to support compliance, growth, and improvements whilst building relationships with critical stakeholders.Lead the achievement of budget forecasts, focusing on cost control and overall responsibility for each store's profit and loss outcomes.Manage and lead the store budgeting process each year with the area managers to ensure realistic and achievable budgets are produced.Ensure all policies and procedures are complied with and clearly communicated.Work with Retail Operations, Merchandising, local community stakeholders, and Store Management to meet local community needs for store operating hours, stock levels, store promotions, local employment, and nutrition initiatives.Use your innovative flair to drive innovation in the retail team to reduce costs and free up time for the team.Drive recruitment and succession planning for the team.What's in it for you?Competitive remuneration.
