Kempsey Shire Council is searching for a Group Manager Water and Sewer to drive strategic outcomes, inspire teams, and ensure high-quality, sustainable services for our residents.

About the Role: As the Group Manager Water and Sewer, you will be a key member of our broader Senior Leadership Team and you will lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for delivering efficient, effective, and resident-focused water and sewer services.
From overseeing operations and maintenance to driving strategic infrastructure planning, your leadership will be instrumental in shaping the future of water and wastewater management across the Kempsey Shire.
Key Responsibilities: Lead and mentor a team of managers in the delivery of water and sewer operations, maintenance, network and planning services.Design and deliver integrated, customer-focused services including water and sewer construction, procurement support, contract management, operation and maintenance of water and wastewater assets.Ensuring all water and wastewater facilities are operated, repaired, and maintained efficiently and effectively.Developing long-term infrastructure and financial strategies to support sustainable water and wastewater services, and the development of new infrastructure, including adequate provision for increasing demand associated with future projected growth and asset renewals.Foster stakeholder relationships with government bodies, developers, and industry partners to deliver innovative and customer-focused solutions.Ensuring all staff have clearly defined responsibilities, objectives and performance criteria applicable to their positions.About You: The Successful Candidate To be successful in this role, you will possess: Proven leadership experience in a multidisciplinary environment.Proven experience in delivering water and sewer operations, infrastructure projects, and capital program delivery.Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Environmental Science or related discipline and/or extensive work experience relevant to the role.Expertise in asset management, project delivery, stakeholder engagement, and regulatory compliance.A strategic mindset with the ability to solve complex problems and drive innovation.Excellent communication, facilitation, negotiation and problem-solving skills.Benefits of working for Kempsey Shire Council: A permanent full-time position, 35 hours per week with a 19-day month RDO system.Attractive annual remuneration package plus leaseback vehicle.A working environment focused on wellbeing, including flexible work arrangements, rostered days off, EAP access, social club, health and wellbeing programs and access to Fitness Passport.The opportunity for career development learning and development programs and study assistance.A fantastic lifestyle and work-life balance, on the beautiful Mid-North Coast.Interested in Applying?
