We are purpose-led, focused on delivering outstanding member service and driving positive social impact.The Role:As the Group Chief Risk Officer, you will play a senior leadership role in safeguarding RAC's assets and reputation by balancing risk and regulatory demands with commercial objectives.We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Chief Risk Officer (CRO) to lead our risk management efforts across the RAC Group. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for evolving our risk management framework and identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks that could impact our organisation and its regulated subsidiaries.You will ensure that robust risk management frameworks and strategies align with regulatory requirements and our business objectives. You will promote a strong culture of risk awareness, working in close collaboration with executives, senior management, and external stakeholders.Key Responsibilities:Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive risk management strategy across RAC Group and its subsidiaries, ensuring alignment with regulatory frameworks.Promote a strong culture of risk awareness at all levels, collaborating with leaders across the organisation to embed risk management in business processes.Oversee the management and delivery of risk mitigation strategies across financial, operational, regulatory, and reputational domains.Regularly assess risks and monitor the effectiveness of mitigation strategies, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and regulations.Provide strategic advice and risk reports to the board, executive team, and senior management to ensure informed decision-making.Lead and support a high-performing risk team, fostering a culture of mentorship, collaboration, and results-driven outcomes.Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, to ensure RAC's compliance and risk management practices are robust and up-to-date.Manage the financial performance of the risk team, identifying opportunities for efficiency and process improvements.Qualifications & Experience:Significant experience in risk management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.Extensive knowledge of Australian regulatory requirements and risk management in the financial services industry.Experience in implementing practical risk management frameworks, including responses to emerging risks (e.g. cyber, privacy).Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to foster collaboration and innovation.Strong business insight and financial acumen.Ability to build trusted relationships with diverse stakeholders.Strategic mindset with a focus on delivering results and managing ambiguity.High-level analytical skills, including the ability to conduct complex financial research and analysis.Courage to address difficult issues and promote a solutions-focused and pragmatic approach to risk management.Tertiary qualification in finance, business, risk management, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).Professional certifications from relevant institutes is desirable e.g. Risk Management Institute of Australasia, Governance Institute of Australia).Join Us:At RAC, we are driven by our purpose to create a safer, sustainable, and connected Western Australia.
