This position is ideal for a Group Accountant with a business services background who has a keen interest in the construction & property sector.
You will ultimately lead the month end & financial compliance processes for the Group.
My client is a leading company within the construction space who have been in operation for a number of years & now have offices across Australia.
Working out of modern offices in Fortitude Valley, they have consistently grown & diversified their offering to the market, becoming a market leader in their space.
Description
Ultimately, the purpose of this role is to take ownership over the month end reporting process for the Group, working closely with the Financial Controller & CFO to ensure accuracy in reporting and compliance.
Balance sheet reconciliations
Leading the month end close & supporting the team to reduce month end timelines while maintaining accuracy
Leading the financial compliance matters for the group - including GST, FBT, Payroll Tax etc.
Monitoring financial performance of the company and propose improvements
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards
Participating in the annual audit process alongside the external auditors
Profile
The successful candidate will have:
A recognised Accounting qualification within Australia
Experience working within a complex group function with complex consolidations & intercompany transactions
Strong communication skills, with the ability to proactively build relationships & communicate with stakeholders at all levels of the business
A business services background within public practice will be highly regarded
