Role The successful applicant will be required to undertake duties one day per fortnight. The education support person in this position requires experience in general and structural maintenance as well as mowing and gardening.
They will be responsible for the safe and functional operations of the school buildings and grounds.
Flexibility is an important attribute, as the students' education must always have the main priority with the grounds person being able to create ways to succeed in completing all necessary works whilst not disturbing classes.
Many tasks of this position will be on a regular basis while once-off tasks will occur when identified by either the Education Support person or the Principal.
Responsibilities Manage the use and maintenance of equipment within the work area. Maintenance of all school buildings. Maintenance of school grounds, garden beds including weeding, pruning, planting, mulching, and sweeping of paths with a blower. Ensure security is maintained within the work area. Regular inspections of interior and exterior grounds to maintain a safe environment. Manage procedures relating to the maintenance of specialist collections, e.g., garden shed materials. Evaluate and select equipment and materials and make recommendations to leadership. Coordinate the purchase of equipment and materials when needed. Other duties as directed by the principal.
