We are excited to offer an excellent opportunity for a Graduate Safety and Risk Engineer to join our team and kick-start your career in safety and risk management. In this role, you will be responsible for the delivery of well-written, concise deliverables, to a high standard, requiring some feedback/rework.
What you will be doing.As our Graduate Safety and Risk Engineer, you will play a vital role in supporting safety and risk initiatives across various engineering projects. Working under the guidance of senior engineers and industry experts, you will be responsible for assisting in the analysis and evaluation of potential risks, ensuring the safe design and operation of systems. Key responsibilities include:
Assistance with development of Safety Cases for a range of facilities/industries (vessels, offshore/onshore facilities, subsea infrastructure, pipelines, drilling, diving, construction/installation).Development of Formal Safety Assessment (FSA) studies (e.g. Fire & Explosion Analysis (FEA), Smoke and Gas Ingress Assessment (SGIA), Non-Flammable Hazards Analysis (NFHA), Escape, Temporary Refuge, Evacuation, and Rescue Assessment (ETRERA), Emergency System Survivability Assessment (ESSA), Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA), Dropped Object Study (DOS), Ship Collision, Bowtie diagrams, Performance Standards and ALARP demonstration).Preparation, scribing and reporting for workshops (e.g. HAZID, HAZOP, Environmental Risk Assessments and Pipeline Risk Assessments).Document Control (in a support capacity).Travel to site or overseas for work as required.Knowledge of legislation/regulations/regulator expectations, risk management standards and industry guidance.Always comply with the company QHSE policies, manuals, procedures, work systems and regulations at ABL premises, projects and client sites.Other duties as assigned.The role is based in Perth, Australia and the candidate should have the rights to live and work in Perth, Australia.
What we are looking for.As our Graduate Safety and Risk Engineer, we would be looking for you to have the following:
Degree in engineering or related subject from a recognised university.Advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferably with formula driven worksheets and accounting software.High degree of computer literacy to include competence in current Microsoft applications and file management.High attention to detail.The ability to mentor and encourage progression from within the team.Ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines.Ability to learn implement and improve processes.Great communication skills, both verbal and written.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Hard working, conscientious, professional and independent.Self-motivated and analytical with the ability to operate in a dynamic environment.
