About the Role
The Graduate Research Support Officer supports graduate research administration within the Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning.
Reporting to the Coordinator, Graduate Research, the role encompasses a range of responsibilities, including processing candidature variations, assisting with pre-admission and selection processes, handling communications and enquiries, and coordinating logistical matters and contributing to a positive and productive work environment.
Your Responsibilities Processing graduate research candidature variations, such as leave requests and study-away applications, ensuring compliance with relevant policies. Supporting pre-admission and selection processes by compiling applications and assisting with pre-assessments. Responding to enquiries from prospective and current graduate research candidates and supervisors, providing accurate and timely information. Assisting with the delivery of graduate research development activities, including seminars and workshops. Maintaining effective records and maintaining current knowledge of key processes. Who We Are Looking For
You will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage consultative relationships with key stakeholders.
Your strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and capacity to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines will enable you to work efficiently as part of a dynamic team.
Qualifications A tertiary degree with relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and professional experience. Demonstrated ability to provide accurate and timely advice on graduate research candidature and admissions to staff and students. High-level computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and database applications, with the ability to quickly adapt to new systems and tools. Experience using enterprise systems at the University of Melbourne, including the Graduate Research candidature management system. This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check.
This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University.
