Job Description We have an opportunity for a recent or upcoming graduate interested in a consulting career in social research and enjoyment of working with data to analyze and determine insights for projects for our public sector clients. Midyear start.

Graduates in the quantitative professional stream will be exposed to a range of research and consulting skills including:
understanding and designing quantitative research methodologies organising and conducting research fieldwork, such as online surveys and possibly interviews (as applicable) analysing and interpreting quantitative data using SPSS, Excel, SQL and other tools, and working with relational databases producing, understanding and analysing charts and descriptive statistics in meaningful ways problem solving, drawing insights from findings and report writing, and project management and co-ordination and client relationship management Desired Skills and ExperienceTo be considered for this role you must meet the following selection criteria: Be an Australian Citizen, PR or have long term, unrestricted Australian work rights Graduate or postgraduate qualification(s) in a relevant area  Studies in research methodology, statistical analysis, and data management and analysis would be well regarded Strong tertiary academic record and strong ATAR results General technical skills: Experience with Excel, Word and Powerpoint Knowledge of research methodologies Additional specific technical skills: Experience with statistical software (e.g. SPSS, Q, R) Understanding of basic descriptive and inferential statistics (including regression, factor analysis) Proficiency with programming languages (e.g. R, Python, VBA) will be well regarded but not essential Experience with data-wrangling/manipulation and/or experience with relational databases (e.g. SQL) is preferred but not essential Professional skills: Strong accuracy, attention to detail and problem-solving skills Advanced communication skills – both verbal and written with clear spoken English Time management and organisation skills Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team Ability to work under pressure, to short timeframes in a busy environment, in a constructive and helpful manner An interest in, and possible understanding of, the public sector environment A positive mindset, resilient and 'can do' attitude, maintaining a solutions focus - ensuring you are positive with those around you Adaptability, energy, and flexibility to work with varying workloads including during peak periods Motivated by excellence, continual learning and intellectual rigour Strong learner with a desire to advance consulting skills and grow in leadership Humble, versatile and prepared to apply self to whatever is required to advance projects and serve client and team needs Focussed on a career in commercial social research/consulting Positive Police check and Working with Vulnerable People checks required. Ability to work at the office as we have a collegiate, supportive office based working culture.
