2- year Fixed Term Full Time opportunity City of Newcastle (CN) has an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Planner to grow and develop within the Planning, Transport and Regulation (PTR) Service Unit.
In this role you will experience one-of-a-kind mentoring and training while putting your tertiary qualifications into action within the Strategic Planning and Development Assessment sections of council.
The successful candidate will rotate between both areas gaining valuable experience and knowledge in strategic land use, planning strategy, environmental planning, policy, and statutory requirements expected of City of Newcastle.
Using your analytical mind and problem-solving skills, you will process and assess development and activity applications as well as applications for certificates consistent with statutory requirements, codes, and policies.
You will prepare reports, undertake site inspections, satisfy planning principles and legislative requirements, and consult as well as mediate discussions with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring a strong customer service focus is consistently upheld.
