Job PurposeThis is a new role, created to recognise the importance RM gives to growing our already successful business. Reporting to the Assessment Sales Lead, the Business Development Manager will be responsible for growing our client base.The role will be new business focused, and you will be directly responsible for pipeline growth and selling into new client organisations. Target organisations will included small and medium sized qualifications providers looking to harness the benefits of e-assessment technology.You will have support from colleagues across the business to create compelling propositions tailored to meet the unique needs of customers in this segment. On a day to day basis, you will be working closely with Pre-Sales, Product Development and Customer Relationship Management colleagues. You will also have the support of the your Sales Lead.Key Challenges & OpportunitiesThe business is focused on growth and expanding our reach into the qualifications market will be integral to that growth story. We already have a strong track record of selling into a range of segments and we have a solid base from which to grow further.We are now looking for someone who has the appetite, focus and determination to help RM to maximise the sales opportunities within our assessment business and to significantly grow our acquisition of new customers.Key challenges and opportunities for this role will be:To lead the implementation of the qualification market segments sales strategyTo develop a new business pipeline to deliver Order Intake and Revenue in line with expectationsTo directly inform new proposition and product developments that will support our growth ambitionsTo develop an effective sales and marketing model that includes direct selling, working with partners and where appropriate licence only salesTo understand the unique characteristics of targeted qualifications markets and to find ways of winning new customersResponsibilitiesSales planning: Contribute to the definition of the qualifications segment strategy. Work closely with the Sales Lead and other colleagues to ensure product, project and operations alignment with the strategy to ensure successPersonal Commitment: Taking direct responsibility for the development of a credible pipeline of opportunities in the targeted segments. Working individually and with colleagues to develop new relationships with potential customers and partners to find and convert growth opportunities.Financial: Delivery of revenue and profit targets for the short, medium and long term. Achievement of order intake and margin objectives.Strategic: Contribute to RM's segment marketing strategy, ensuring that the marketing plan supports the sales strategy you have developed.Governance: Present compelling cases to progress identified opportunities through to proposal or bid stage. Secure support for proposed propositions, solutions and related costs models.ExperienceExperience of successfully developing and implementing a segment focused sales strategy with an estimated contract value of £1.5m per annumSuccessful track record of hunting for new business and building significant sales pipelineExperience of meeting and exceeding sales targets on an annual basisStrong ability to develop and manage business relationships at all levels, including senior customer relationships, and to effectively influence senior internal stakeholdersExperience of bidding for private sector contractsStrong communication skills applicable through multiple channels (written, spoken, workshops, presentations)Experience of working in the technology sector, ideally within EdTechA network within the education space, ideally within the qualifications sector would be desirable but not essential#J-18808-Ljbffr
