Details of the offer

Laxon Lex Lawyers is a boutique firm based in Pyrmont, which practices in employment law, criminal law and civil litigation, often representing prominent figures in matters of public interest.
We are currently seeking a graduate or junior solicitor to join the team. You will have the invaluable opportunity to work closely with and be mentored by Principal John Laxon, on a variety of high-profile and interesting matters.
We represent clients across many jurisdictions – including in Federal and State Courts, and the Fair Work and Industrial Relations Commissions, and you will have the opportunity to be closely involved in the process of commencing and conducting litigation, running Fair Work applications, drafting correspondence, pleadings and evidence, drafting and negotiating contracts, deeds and other legal documents, and providing support for clients.
The small firm environment will allow you incredible insight into the conduct of matters from their inception to completion, providing a level of autonomy over case management (under supervision), and provide you with the rare opportunity to have input into the strategic direction of cases, with regular and direct client interaction.
The role is suited to an individual who is committed to the small-team environment and has a willingness to work closely with other members of the team.
Requirements:
Admission as a lawyer in the Supreme Court of New South Wales, with a current practising certificate;
Graduation from a Bachelor of Laws degree, ideally with a distinction grade average or higher;
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities;
A passion for employment, criminal and/or civil law;
The ability to work independently and as a part of a small team;
Outstanding attention to detail; and
Independent organisation and time management skills.
Prior experience in employment or criminal law practice is ideal but not necessary.
Please send your CV, a cover letter of no more than 2 pages, and university transcript to
******
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
