THE ROLE: Growthbuilt has experienced a milestone growth over the last year, growing to 170+ employees with forecasted revenue of up to $378 million.
Our Estimating team needs an additional member to support this high-performing team.
The team is currently led by our Preconstruction Manager, a veteran Senior Estimator with 11 years tenure at Growthbuilt, and a fast-paced high-performing Estimator who is one step away from becoming a Senior Estimator.
The team is currently working through various tenders across multiple sectors as Growthbuilt diversifies its construction portfolio.
This role will report to the Preconstruction Manager, who will offer guidance and support.
Your first month will involve learning about our business and projects, both current and future pipeline, and getting up to speed with everything in the front end and your specific role in each tender.
Once you are comfortable, this role offers a hybrid option of working from home 1 day a week.
What your day-to-day might look like: Provide support to Estimators and Senior Estimators in the preparation of tenders and cost plans, including measuring, reviewing documentation, and preparing compliance documentation.
Review and analyze subcontractor and consultant quotes.
Review and price preliminaries, including forecasting supervision & labor costs in collaboration with Project Managers and Estimators.
Undertake site visits with subcontractors to assess access, buildability, and identify opportunities for competitive advantages.
Review risks and opportunities and estimate associated costings as appropriate.
Evaluate value engineering opportunities by assessing proposed outlines, processes, construction management, and alternative materials during and post-estimate.
Prepare elemental analysis against similar projects, where required.
Reconcile and analyze actual budgets against original budgets, where required.
Compile estimate signoffs and vet associated documentation in line with an established tender process for presentation and final review by management.
Assist in managing and entering benchmarking data and maintaining the CRM (Customer Relationship Management tool).
ABOUT YOU Degree qualifications in Engineering or Construction Management.
Minimum of 1 year post-graduate experience in an estimating role.
Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
Team player with a can-do attitude who can collaborate with various teams.
Energetic, resilient, and able to work under pressure in a high-volume environment.
Previous experience doing site inspections as you will need to inspect sites from time to time.
Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
