The Registrar/Senior Registrar works under the direction and supervision of Specialist Medical Staff and is responsible for:
Adherence to professional protocols, policies, clinical pathways, and standards.Demonstrating sound judgement and competence in accordance with skills and knowledge when undertaking tasks.Responsible for the day-to-day management of private and public inpatients and outpatients within the allocated site/facility in the North West region. Provide after-hours emergency as determined by the relevant work unit.Please note that the below is desirable: Only applicants who are confirmed to be on the training pathway of either the RACGP or ACRRM with the local Tasmanian Directors of Training or their faculty and already accepted to place in a general practice listed on the relevant 19(2) Direction that enables participation in the Single Employer Model (SEM) program will be considered for the GP registrar position in the SEM Pilot Program.
Details of appointment: Fixed term, full time, day worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 18 January 2026. You will receive 10 hours of paid, protected training time per fortnight, pro rata. *notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full-time, part-time, and casual vacancies.
Medical Practitioner Level 5 - 11 $131,000 - $183,500 per annum, pro rata + 11.5% superannuation + access to salary packaging.
Salary range is in accordance with Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022. Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria as:
General or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia.Current Working with Children Registration.*Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee's responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered.
