Compliance & Risk Management Recruitment – Coffs Harbour NSW
CRM Recruitment are partnering with a busy Council who are currently going through a transformation and uplift, seeking a Governance Manager to join their team located in Bellingen/Coffs Harbour.
This is a hands-on role within a small governance team that looks after main service activities where touch points to the internal stakeholders and executives are high. Working closely with the broader organisation, you will directly impact and add value to ensure legislative compliance is fit for purpose. As part of the governance team, you will provide administrative support to help strengthen the governance and compliance framework so it can be embedded and understood across all areas of the council. As Governance Manager your primary responsibilities include: Provide advice and support to elected members and other staff on statutory compliance, ethical conduct, and good governance.Undergo high levels of internal stakeholder engagements from operations all the way up to General Manager levels.Provide support to Councillors, Executives, and other staff in the delivery of all processes to ensure outcomes are achieved within compliance of the Council's governance frameworks.Illustrate your understanding of legislation, policy, and all regulations and be able to offer suitable advice.Manage and facilitate high-level council meetings, run agendas, and review instruments regarding legislation where you will be responsible for taking minutes.Keep abreast of changes in applicable laws and regulations.The candidate: 4+ years of experience within the government sector.Strong research and analytical skills and a great understanding of the local government environment.Strong communication skills to work with council and stakeholders.Good eye for detail - Highly developed reading and writing skills.Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Business, Law, or a related field. Equivalent experience accepted.In return, you will join a great team where you benefit from a 35-hour, 5-day work week with a great 2/3 hybrid work model once you are up and running. On top of this, you will receive an attractive salary package commensurate with your experience that will pay up to $108,000.00 + Super + 25% loading.
