Governance & Compliance Manager - Aboriginal Identified Wellington Aboriginal Corporation Health Service – Dubbo NSW

Location: Dubbo, Wellington (NSW) or Mount Druitt
Wellington Aboriginal Corporation Health Service (WACHS) is an Aboriginal community-controlled health organisation that aims to empower Aboriginal people to take control of their individual, family, and community health and wellbeing needs through our clinical and community programs.
Our main services are in Wellington, Dubbo, Moree, Western Sydney, Penrith, Nepean, and Blue Mountains, and we provide outreach services to other towns and communities through our regional programs.
The Governance & Compliance Manager will play a vital role in ensuring organizational integrity and adherence to regulatory standards. You will develop and implement governance frameworks, engage with Aboriginal communities, and work closely with the Board to foster a culture of transparency and accountability.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Implement and maintain WACHS standards across the business. Ensure compliance for audits. Understand key standards and legislation. Lead audits and present evidence. Train staff on compliance. Audit accommodation sites weekly for compliance. Maintain records of compliance. Stay updated on regulatory changes. Identify and reduce risks. Skills, Experience & Mandatory Requirements:
Understanding governance frameworks and compliance with regulations. Ability to create and implement policies aligned with regulations. Understanding of financial management and reporting. Proven experience in governance within the not-for-profit sector. Experience collaborating with Aboriginal communities. Working closely with Executive Managers, CEO & Boards on governance activities. Developing and implementing risk strategies. Deep understanding of Aboriginal cultures. A Current National Police Check. A Current Working With Children Check NSW. Current Driver's License that allows you to drive in Australia. COVID-19 Vaccination with Booster Information. Benefits:
