Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available
The Scotland England Green Link project portfolio will play a critical role in the achievement of the UK's net zero targets, connecting the low carbon electricity resources in the north of Scotland to demand centres in the south.

This is a new position giving someone with subject matter expertise in Governance, Reporting, Assurance and Project Coordination interfaces the chance to really own and shape this position.
The responsibilities of the Governance & Assurance Manager include:

To set up, embed and maintain the portfolio governance for the EGL projects; ensuring appropriate governance forums, change and decision control processes are established in line as closely as possible with the SSE Large Capital Project (LCP/LCP+) governance framework; and continuous review of Joint Venture Shareholder and Managed Service Agreements to ensure obligations are met.
Define and agree appropriate reporting and KPIs for the EGL portfolio, supporting coordination activities required for gate readiness checks, as well as the LCP+ assurance process (e.g. Project Assurance Reviews - PARS).
Develop and own Project Assurance Reviews and Parent Company Audits, presenting clear and concise outputs to the relevant stakeholders with practical mitigating actions and closure of review findings.
Lead and mentor the Project Services governance and assurance, and reporting teams - providing guidance, support, and undertaking performance management activities.
Act as the Champion and SME for Governance and Assurance capability, ensuring alignment to Parent Company processes and policies, working with the other Offshore Project Services leads, Legal, Finance and Regulatory teams.

What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

An understanding of industry-wide best practice Governance requirements gained from experience across a capital development and delivery programme, ideally within the Energy industry.
Demonstrable ability to lead, motivate and develop your team to ensure they deliver and perform to their full potential.
Experience in supporting major infrastructure projects across the entire project lifecycle, including design, consenting, procurement, commercial, contracting through to construction and commissioning.
Good stakeholder and relationship management, ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels (internal and external), gaining the collaboration and support from stakeholders in a matrix environment.
An understanding of challenges and opportunities facing the energy sector coupled with a drive to deliver continuous improvement.
