About the Role
Responsibilities include:
Risk Management and Compliance Framework: Develop, oversee, and report on the organization's risk management framework in alignment with ISO standards, including active monitoring of strategic and operational risks across business units. Internal Audit Oversight: Lead the internal audit program, ensuring compliance with Australian Auditing Standards and reporting findings to senior leadership. This includes managing audit schedules, assessing internal controls, and delivering recommendations for risk mitigation. Policy and Compliance Registers: Oversee policy management, including drafting, updating, and approving risk management and compliance-related policies. Maintain compliance and contract registers to ensure centralized oversight of obligations and adherence to relevant legislation. Board and Committee Support: Provide secretarial support to the Board and sub-committees, including drafting reports, consolidating board papers, and preparing meeting minutes. Professional Conduct and Reporting: Ensure clear, professional reporting, objective auditing practices, and accurate, high-quality advice. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes and effectively communicate risk insights within the organization. Challenges: Navigate complex regulatory landscapes and tight deadlines while remaining objective in audits and adapting to emerging technologies to enhance risk management and audit effectiveness. About You
You have:
A tertiary degree in legal/finance or business-related discipline. Demonstrated experience in corporate governance, risk management, or internal audit, with a strong understanding and application of risk management principles. Excellent organizational skills for timely, accountable outcomes, and clear communication with stakeholders. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples are encouraged to apply.
