The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the high-quality technical and administrative functions of our Council, focusing on Governance, Assurance, and Risk Management areas.
This role is central to ensuring the effective management and oversight of our internal audit program and the operation of the Audit Risk and Improvement Committee (ARIC).
On a daily basis you will: Provide exceptional technical and administrative support to the Governance and Risk team.Assist in managing and overseeing the internal audit program.Prepare reports, coordinate, and support the ARIC operations.Maintain legislation-based systems and registers crucial to our governance framework.Offer governance and assurance advice as needed.Support the preparation and facilitation of Council Meetings, including logistics like room bookings and catering, agenda preparation, and minute-taking.Coordinate and complete specific projects as directed by the Manager of Governance and Risk.
About?the person You possess strong administrative and technical skills, with a keen attention to detail.You are adept at managing multiple projects and can effectively coordinate meetings and events.You have excellent communication skills and can prepare comprehensive reports and submissions.You are a proactive team player, ready to offer advice and support across the governance and risk management areas.A proven track record in governance, assurance, or a related field, ideally within a public sector or council environment will be highly regarded.
