GM - Membership & Engagement Sydney CBD Permanent Role – Full Time Salary: Up to $190,000 + Super (Dependent on experience) Hybrid (In-office & WFH) Cox Purtell is currently working with a national membership association operating throughout Australia.
They have branches in every state and territory, and they exist to advocate for their community of members/professionals and drive better practice in all organisations.
They're now looking to hire a committed and motivated General Manager of Membership & Engagement to play a pivotal strategic role within the organisation, taking responsibility for developing and implementing strategic initiatives to acquire, grow and retain the membership base, adding value to the member experience and developing commercial opportunities for organisational growth.
The successful candidate will have experience leading events and driving new partnerships to grow an organisation, with a keen eye for developing new business opportunities, and ultimately contributing to the growth of a membership base.
Main areas of responsibility include: Oversee the exploration and development of new business opportunities, partnerships and alliances, contributing to the growth and retention of members.
Build and lead high performing teams to achieve growth objectives and increase engagement.
Lead the conceptualisation and execution of a diverse range of high-quality programming and events aimed at providing value-add experiences for members Develop and oversee the execution of a strategic growth and retention plan to achieve targets, creating value propositions for membership and ensuring member satisfaction.
Oversee the establishment of strategic alliances with associations and other partners.
Identify and deliver products and services to boost membership engagement.
Collect, analyse and report on membership statistics, ensuring a data driven approach to strategy.
Inspire and lead high-performing State Managers to deliver against agreed targets.
Establish key performance indicators to measure the success of events Oversee strategic partnerships with vendors, sponsors and industry stakeholders to enhance event offerings.
Your Profile: The successful candidate will be a highly experience and demonstrated leader in a member-based organisation, ideally within an Association or Not-for-Profit organisation.
At least 5 years' experience in a management role is desired.
Tertiary qualification in Business Administration or related field.
Extensive (at least 5 years) experience in member-based organisations/associations.
Strong ability to interpret market needs and deliver service excellence.
Expertise in data-driven decision-making for membership strategies.
Outstanding leadership skills, guiding and developing team members.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills with stakeholders.
Proactive with strong analytical, time management, and problem-solving abilities Demonstrated exceptional leadership, personal engagement and inclusivity in leading staff
