The Lead Smelter – Maintenance team is actively looking to fill the staff position of Maintenance Parts Coordinator, located in Mount Isa. This is a residential role, working a 5 days on, 2 days off, 4 on, 3 off day shift roster.
The Maintenance Parts Coordinator will provide the front-line maintenance workforce with all the correct tools, package ordered parts from the planning department, and source specific work documents as required by trade teams. The successful candidate will report directly to the Lead Smelter Maintenance Superintendent.
Key Responsibilities: Support the effective execution of front-line maintenance activities. Maintain the lifting equipment register and statutory testing. Coordinate maintenance mobile equipment servicing and compliance. Conduct urgent and special spare parts ordering, parts consolidation, and tooling availability for the maintenance workforce prior to executing tasks. Manage spare parts and alignment between the maintenance department and warehouse. Work with work orders, documentation, and assets within the maintenance management software system (SAP). Prepare parts and build ready-to-go jobs for execution from forward plans and backlog tasks, targeting maximum utilization of opportune downtime. Liaise with the critical parts coordinator to audit existing and identify critical parts. Support and manage shutdown tools and parts issue during full plant shutdowns. Maintain close contact with maintenance planners to receive forward plans and ordered parts lists for receiving, verifying, and placing into executable packages. Support maintenance supervisors in special scopes and urgent ordering. The Ideal Candidate Will Have: Ability to communicate effectively. Identify opportunities for process continuous improvements and drive to assist with implementation. Strong computer skills and knowledge of maintenance management software (SAP, Excel) is highly regarded. Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders, such as suppliers, planners, and execution team members. Ability to work effectively in a team environment or with minimal supervision.
