Working with an energetic and high performing team in Newcastle, this Technical Director – Electrical Engineering position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
Responsible for leading and delivering all aspects of transmission line projects from concept stage to construction and commissioning stages. Prepare PLS-CADD models, design drawings, technical reports, ITPs, and other such project deliverables. Design management of work packages and interacting with client-side engineers for design reviews/workshops, resolution of technical issues and design progress updates. Review transmission line design deliverables prepared by the design team for technical accuracy and compliance. Support the design team to ensure that engineering and commercial outputs are of a consistently high standard. Technical leadership and commercial direction on projects. Estimate and prepare project tenders and proposals with respect to transmission line scope. Network with other GHD offices to work collaboratively on transmission line projects where opportunities arise. Mentor team members in overhead line design and technical knowledge-sharing. Author technical reports per GHD and client guidelines. Perform site inspections and prepare inspection reports for proposals, design delivery and construction. Establish client relationships and client liaison. Other duties as instructed by Team Leader or Business Group Leader. What you will bring to the team: Extensive experience in HV and EHV overhead line detailed design including all aspects of documentation (reports, drawings, etc.). Expert user of the PLS-CADD suite including POLE, TOWER, etc. with extensive modelling experience up to 500 kV. Thorough understanding of infrastructure project development lifecycle. Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering. Project Management. CPEng or actively working towards obtainment. Minimum 15 years of relevant professional industry experience. Local consulting experience preferred. Focus on client service. Proven experience in managing several projects at once and determining priorities. Proven experience in the technical leadership of multi-discipline engineering projects. Proven ability to prepare and present tenders/proposals to potential clients. Interested? Apply now.
