Due to exciting opportunities that have arisen, we are now seeking a junior CFD Consultant to join our Sydney team.
Key Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for:
Conducting engineering assessments, preparing reports for proposed commercial and residential developments in the following disciplines:BASIX and NatHERS BCA/NCC Section J/JV3 Nabers and Green Star Lighting and solar access Preparing scaled models of surrounding buildings for wind tunnel testing Preparing geometry for CFD Modelling Solar glare and reflectivity Energy modelling in IESVE Consulting with clients (mostly architects and developers) and providing design recommendations relating to the above assessments Reporting to the technical director Retaining client relationships by meeting deadlines and providing high quality reports and consultation Key Skills / Experience:
Mechanical Engineering Qualifications, Building Services Engineering or equivalent. Ideally 1-2 years' experience within a similar position and consultancy business Proven technical and industry experience in energy efficiency, developing energy saving initiatives, Energy Rating assessments, renewables, and Green Star. ABSA Accreditation is ideal Excellent communication skills and comfortable in presenting to new clients and major stakeholder groups Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word Processing) Proven written and verbal skills: excellent report writing skills is essential Well educated in Heat Transfer and Fluid Mechanics Ability to review and understand architectural drawings A good understanding in building physics and building materials A good understanding on building HVAC and ventilation systems Experience using CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD) Experience in either IESVE or CFD software A driver's license is essential Australian Citizenship or rights to work in Australia is essential Our benefits at SLR include:
