Location ProfileManor Lakes P-12 College opened in 2009 and is located in Minindee Rd, Wyndham Vale. The college currently has an enrolment of 3000 students. The enrolment is expected to stabilise and possibly decline in the primary years and to continue to increase at secondary level. The backgrounds of our students reflect a cultural and socio-economic diversity. The college has a Student Family Occupation (SFO) of 0.552 which indicates that there is a level of disadvantage within our community. Approximately 16% of our student population come from a language background other than English.

Selection CriteriaSC1 Knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including the ability to incorporate the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills. Experience in responding to student learning needs.
SC2 Experience in planning and implementing high impact teaching strategies and evaluating the impact on student learning growth.
SC3 Experience in monitoring and assessing student learning and using data to inform teaching practice.
SC4 Interpersonal and communication skills, establishing collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues and the broader school community.
SC5 Behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values and experience in reflecting upon practice to improve teaching quality.
RoleThe classroom teacher classification comprises two salary ranges: range 1 and range 2. The primary focus is on planning, preparation and teaching of programs to achieve specific student outcomes. Classroom teachers engage in critical reflection to improve knowledge and skills.
Range 2 classroom teachers assist the school in improving student performance and educational outcomes. They are expected to model exemplary classroom practice and mentor other teachers.
Range 1 classroom teachers focus on developing skills and competencies with structured support and guidance, teaching a range of students/classes and being accountable for the effective delivery of their programs.
ResponsibilitiesThe role of classroom teacher may include but is not limited to:
Direct teaching of groups and individual students;Contributing to the development and evaluation of curriculum programs;Participating in activities such as parent/teacher meetings and staff meetings;Undertaking other non-teaching supervisory duties.Who May ApplyTeachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach and/or have demonstrated experience in the curriculum area(s) specified.
