In this role you will provide effective care for patients with acute and chronic general surgical conditions, whilst developing the 9 RACS surgical competencies. You will develop expertise in best medical practice, quality assurance and will participate in medical education and supervision of junior team members. Under the supervision of General Surgeons, you will assess and manage patients who present for care, formulating and implementing their management plans.

Additionally, the following are essential requirements: You'll have full Australian Working RightsYou'll be an AHPRA Registered Medical PractitionerYou'll have MBBS or equivalent with at least 2 years post graduate experienceYou'll have a strong commitment to a career in SurgeryYou'll have demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary teamYou'll have proven competency in clinical skills including effective assessment, care planning, care provision, case management and management of clinical emergenciesYou'll ideally have previous surgery JMO experience (highly desirable)You'll ideally have experience in supervising junior medical officers or teachingYou'll have a keen interest in researchWhat to expect Successful candidates will be required to complete a range of pre-employment checks and assessments. These vary and could include professional references, a national police check, working with children check, vaccination evidence, among others.
