Location Bidgerdii Community Health Service is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community controlled primary health care service, operating in Rockhampton, Mt Morgan and Blackwater.

Hours Monday-Friday 8.30am-5pmAbout Us Bidgerdii Community Health Service is a bulk billing community-controlled health service, managed by a Board of Directors who oversee and manage the strategic directions of the service.
Bidgerdii provides comprehensive primary health and well-being services to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community in the Rockhampton and surrounding regions. Bidgerdii collaborates with health and well-being partner agencies to enable integrated continuity of care for the community and continue to work to contribute to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health policy and program reform in Queensland.
About the Role As a General Practitioner at Bidgerdii Community Health Service, you will report to the Clinic Manager and play a vital role in delivering comprehensive and culturally sensitive healthcare services to the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Delivering high-quality primary healthcare services including diagnosis, treatment, and management of medical conditionsDemonstrating cultural sensitivity and respect for Aboriginal traditions and practices in healthcare deliveryManaging chronic diseases and implementing evidence-based interventions to improve health outcomesWorking collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide integrated carePrescribing medications and other treatments as necessaryProviding best practice comprehensive primary health care optimising uptake and income generation across the service through MBS billingsProviding leadership in the safety and quality of clinical services delivered by the health teamWorking in a multidisciplinary team environment with access to visiting allied health and specialist service responsible for demonstrating leadership in clinical quality, safety and fostering a culture of organisational reflection and continuous quality improvementQualifications & Experience Qualification evidence as a Medical Practitioner MBBS, unconditional registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA)Eligible to obtain a provider numberUnderstanding (or ability to develop understanding) and commitment to the concept, philosophy and practice of Aboriginal Community Controlled Health OrganisationWorking knowledge of health issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and a strong commitment to improving health outcomesAbility to work sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peopleWell-developed communication and interpersonal skillsDemonstrated skills in providing clinical leadership in a multidisciplinary settingSkills and experience in clinical teaching and health professional developmentComputer skills – able to work effectively with electronic client record systems, primarily CommunicarePractical Requirements Immunisation requirements – It is a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against the following vaccine-preventable diseases: measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis B, hepatitis A, and pertussis (whooping cough) during their employmentCurrent CPR and First Aid CertificateCurrent Blue Card (Working with Children and young people) or willingness to apply for a Blue Card - essentialHow to Apply Click 'Apply Now' to submit your application and please include:
