Gippsland & East Gippsland Aboriginal Cooperative Ltd (GEGAC) is seeking expressions of interest for a passionate and experienced General Practitioner to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to Aboriginal health and a desire to work collaboratively with our community to deliver high-quality medical care.
Organisational Profile GEGAC is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation based on Gunaikurnai Country in Bairnsdale, Victoria. Consisting of about 160 staff, GEGAC is a Not for Profit organisation that delivers holistic services in the areas of Primary Health, Social Services, Elders & Disability and Early Childhood Education.
GEGAC is a child safe agency and has a zero tolerance of abuse or neglect of children and young people.
Position Purpose The General Practitioner position will provide medical services to the population served by GEGAC Primary Health Care. This will include the management of acute and chronic conditions and assistance with the delivery and promotion of primary health care. The role will be part of a multidisciplinary team; including Nurses, Aboriginal Health Workers, Koori Maternity Services, Dental and visiting allied health/Specialists.

Relevant and Australian recognised medical degree ESSENTIALRegistration with AHPRA; Fellowship of the College of General Practitioners or similar or be eligible of such ESSENTIALTraining in CPR, undertaken within the past 12 months ESSENTIALA satisfactory Working with Children Check and Fit2Work Police Check ESSENTIALA person of Aboriginal / Torres Strait Islander background DESIRABLEProof of COVID-19 vaccinated to align with mandatory vaccination directive applying to authorised workers ESSENTIALHow to apply for this job Applicants must address the key selection criteria for shortlisting.
