Position Type: Permanent, part-time (15 hours per week), over a 7-day roster Gawler Health Service (GHS) is seeking motivated and professional General Physicians to provide comprehensive medical care to hospital inpatients. This role involves reviewing, admitting, and managing patients referred by GPs, metropolitan hospitals, or the Emergency Department.
Your responsibilities Conduct inpatient, ambulatory care, and procedural consultations, including patient assessment, diagnosis, management, and treatment. Provide timely documentation of patient assessments, management plans, treatment, and discharge planning, ensuring clear communication with other healthcare professionals. Offer general medical advice and assistance for patient management in other hospital areas, including the Emergency Department. Lead and supervise junior medical practitioners, nursing staff, and allied health professionals, fostering teamwork and collaboration. Participate in quality improvement activities, administration, teaching, research, and site accreditation. Ensure that hospital policies and quality standards are maintained and updated according to guidelines.
