General/Business Unit Manager (CEO & General Management) Full time About Us:
For over 40 years Border Express has grown to become a leader in the transport and logistics sector, dedicated to providing seamless and efficient transportation solutions. As part of the FMH Group we pride ourselves on innovation, operational excellence, and a commitment to sustainability. With a growing portfolio of clients and expanding operations, we are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to lead our transport division in WA/SA and NT.
The Role:
As the General Manager, you will oversee the transport and logistics operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and profitability. You will lead a large team, develop strategic plans, and work closely with senior leadership to drive growth and improve service delivery. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on leader with a passion for logistics, innovation, and business development.
Key Responsibilities: Oversee day-to-day transport operations, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of services Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency and profitability Lead, mentor, and manage a large team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, health & safety, and environmental standards Build and maintain relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and suppliers Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize performance Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial performance of the transport division Collaborate with senior leadership on business development and strategic growth plans Key Requirements: Proven experience as a General Manager or senior leadership role within the transport/logistics sector Strong leadership and team management skills In-depth knowledge of transport regulations, compliance, and health & safety standards Demonstrated success in operational efficiency, business development, and profitability Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities Financial acumen with experience managing budgets and P&L #J-18808-Ljbffr
