General Manager Utilities

Details of the offer

About Abergeldie Abergeldie is an Australian owned contractor with 30 years' industry experience in Australia and New Zealand. We design and deliver projects in the Water, Bridges, Transport, Underground, Energy and Remediation industry sectors: the complex infrastructure needed to build better communities.
About our utilities team Our team offer expertise in strategic planning, ECI/Toc/Alliance collaborative contracting models to design and deliver water and wastewater asset reliability and renewals, bulk water asset upgrades, capital infrastructure projects and network rehabilitation and replacement services in regional and metropolitan areas.
It is an exciting time for our team in Melbourne and nationally, we have won several large framework contacts including the ABK JV where we have been appointed as one of two Integrated Capital Works Planning and Delivery Partners for South East Water's record AUD$1.5 billion investment in major capital projects. We are also part of the SFP JV with Melbourne Water where we are delivering a program of works covering a diverse range of design and construct and pipeline rehabilitation projects. Additionally, we are involved in Yarra Valley Water's Delivery Reliability Program and have ongoing work with Barwon Water and other clients. With a strong pipeline of projects ahead, it's a great time to join our growing Melbourne team as we continue building a team that will help to drive our continued success.
About the opportunity We're looking for an experienced General Manager to join our senior leadership team and lead our Utilities business in Victoria. This role is integral in driving our future growth strategy and will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our Utilities team. Reporting to our Executive General Manager, you will oversee the successful leadership and management of the Utilities business, with a focus on profitable growth, securing work, and ensuring successful project delivery. You will provide strategic direction, leading and managing all activities of the division and develop a high-performance culture capable of delivering sustainable growth. You will also build and nurture key client and supplier relationships and identify solutions which will bring an innovative and differentiated value offering to our clients.
This role can be based in either our West Melbourne Office or South East offices with travel as required.
What you'll bring to the team You will be a strong relationship builder, strategic thinker and have previous success in leading and developing teams and proven experience in developing new business within the civil construction sector. You will be well connected in the Water market and have established relationships at the executive level. You will be a natural problem solver who enjoys solving complex problems and partnering with clients to provide innovative solutions. We are looking for someone who will actively build and strengthen Abergeldie's reputation in the market and someone who will be an inspiring leader, who will effectively coach and mentor their teams to deliver on our business strategy.
Why you should work with us At Abergeldie, we firmly believe that our purpose is just as important as what we do. We pride ourselves on our commitment to give back to the communities where we live and work. We collaborate with our clients to deliver the complex infrastructure needed to build better communities. Our approach is underpinned by the application of professional engineering and management standards akin to those of major industry players. Yet, we maintain a unique culture characterised by collaboration, accessibility, and adaptability, allowing us to adapt seamlessly to the diverse needs and distinctive requirements of both clients and the broader community.
Our people are what make Abergeldie successful, and we make sure that this is the kind of place where great people enjoy working for the long term. We offer a range of employee benefits including the Abergeldie Bonus Scheme, where all eligible employees share in the benefits of the projects they have helped to deliver. When we deliver winning projects, we celebrate success together!
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing company, where you will have the ability to influence change and play a key role in shaping our future success.
If this sounds like you APPLY NOW or contact Hayley Urriola for more information.
