IOR is a family-owned business based in Brisbane, which has been fuelling Australia's industries for nearly 40 years. The business has been growing rapidly and consistently in the last decade in particular, and is now the only fully integrated, 100% Australian-owned fuel company in the country. IOR's operations span the entire country and the entire fuel value chain: a crude oil refinery, two import terminals, a growing bulk delivery fleet, on-road and on-airport unmanned refuelling networks, infrastructure manufacturing, and proprietary fuel management technology.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, as the General Manager of Technology, you will shape and guide IOR's technological landscape, balancing strategy and innovation with operational excellence. You will join the Group Leadership Team, collaborating closely with other senior leaders to align IT initiatives with broader business objectives. This role is central to ensuring seamless IT Operations, cutting-edge Engineering practices, and a secure, proactive Information Security framework.
You will have the support of skilled Heads of Departments overseeing Operations, Software and Hardware Engineering, and Information/Cyber Security. Your mission? To set the strategic direction, mentor and inspire your teams, and champion cross-functional collaboration that elevates both our technology and our people.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement forward-looking IT strategies that align with IOR's business objectives. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability, empowering department heads to excel;Innovation and Transformation: Spearhead digital transformation initiatives, evaluate emerging technologies, and identify solutions that drive efficiency, customer and employee satisfaction, and competitive advantage;Operational Excellence: Oversee the development and maintenance of core IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and OT/IoT solutions, ensuring high availability and resilience across the organisation;Risk and Compliance Management: Lead IT risk management, reporting, and compliance initiatives, embedding best practices and ensuring regulatory alignment;Performance and Reporting: Develop and measure key performance metrics across IT Operations, Engineering, and Information Security to ensure alignment with strategic goals. Provide regular performance updates to the Group Leadership Team (GLT) and, as required, the Advisory Board, ensuring transparency and data-driven decision-making;People Leadership: Inspire and mentor the IT team, cultivating a collaborative environment where talent flourishes. You'll be a trusted leader, respected by skilled department heads and valued for your ability to build rapport, encourage innovation, and deliver results.About You We're looking for a leader who is as passionate about technology as they are about people.
