The Opportunity  Play a crucial role in developing and managing the operational capacity at SMH's facilities in Townsville and Mount Isa, ensuring alignment with strategic goals. As General Manager you will drive business expansion, manage complex stakeholder relationships, and lead the company through upcoming scaling efforts.

About You Your strong background in strategic planning, operations management, and team leadership, along with a proven track record in the equipment rental or related industries, will be essential. As part of the leadership team you will be expected to contribute to annual strategy sessions and effectively manage cross-location teams to deliver on the company's ambitious growth targets.

Your New Role: Key Areas of Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning and Execution: Develop and implement innovative strategies in collaboration with the Managing Director/Owner, setting the direction for the company's future growth.
Financial Acumen : Rigorous cost management and planning, overseeing the company's financial health, making strategic decisions to optimise profitability and sustainability. 
Leadership and Team Management : Manage day-to-day operations at Townsville and Mount Isa facilities.
Team Empowerment : Build a culture of accountability and excellence, mentoring the leadership team and fostering an environment where talent thrives across multi-disciplinary teams.
Operational Excellence : Experience in managing large-scale operations, including oversight of inventory, partnerships, and customer service.
Relationship Building : Cultivate strong relationships with all stakeholders to enhance business growth.
Innovation and Adaptability : Innovate and adapt operational practices to meet market changes
What You Bring:
Proven leadership experience in a General Manager or similar role through a period of significant growth.

Extensive experience in a leadership role within the equipment rental or related industry.

Strong financial acumen with a track record of achieving growth.

Exceptional team leadership and people management skills.

Demonstrated ability to manage complex operations and large teams

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Technology savvy

Business development and contract negotiations experience
