General Manager - Rugby

As a key member of the Vikings Rugby staff who reports to the clubs Coaching Director and Executive Committee, the General Manager will aim to achieve the following:Maintain a high level of organisation and administration for the rugby club.Grow sponsorship revenue and maintain current relationships.Implement strategies to develop and grow the current event and match day experience for the clubs' partners and community.Ensure the club has a strong social media presence and manage all relevant communication channels.Manage and lead the key relationships with internal and external stakeholders inclusive of the Vikings Club Management Committee, Vikings Group and ACT Brumbies.Additional duties and responsibilities in the role are:Manage player registration through Rugby Xplorer and all player/club membershipsManage all aspects of the club's merchandise, equipment, canteens, vehicles, and accommodation properties.Facilitate the administration of all committee meetings, working groups and sub-committees.Develop and maintain strong relationships with all members of the Vikings Rugby community including life members.Provide support for the rugby program as applicable to knowledge skills and experience (desirable,not essential)The successful applicant will enjoy the opportunity to work within excellent facilities and resourcing, join an excellent team of full-time staff / committed volunteers and be at the forefront of continually elevating the profile of Vikings rugby as one of the best community rugby clubs in Australia.About youWe are looking for someone with the following qualifications, skills, and experience:Proven experience in sports management or a similar leadership role, with a track record of driving organisational growth and successProven history of generating sponsorship revenue and delivery of successful events within forecasted budgets and revenue targetsStrong strategic and operational planning skills, with the ability to translate high-level goals into actionable plans.Excellent people management and leadership capabilities, with the ability to inspire and motivate all internal stakeholders.Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships.Knowledge and understanding of Rugby AU Community Policies and Guidelines.A passion and commitment to bettering community rugby.Essential RequirementsRelevant Tertiary QualificationSports Management / Business DegreeWorking with Children / Working with Vulnerable People CheckDrivers LicenceSponsorship and Event Management ExperienceDesirable CriteriaRelevant Coaching AccreditationFirst Aid Certificate
