South Australian Chamber of Mines & Energy – Adelaide SAThe South Australian Chamber of Mines and Energy (SACOME) is the leading industry association representing the resource and energy sector. SACOME is a small yet dedicated team that services the needs of approximately 130 member organisations, proudly advocating for and on behalf of the resources sector with true independence.Reporting directly to the Chief Executive and leading a small team, this key executive role will lead actions and innovative interventions to achieve the strategic policy priorities outlined in the 2030Vision and annual priorities document. Other responsibilities include:Leading the design, development and execution of policy and advocacy aligned with SACOME's overarching objectives and Member interests in the areas of State Economic Development, Energy, Infrastructure, Legislation & Regulation;Developing policy and position statements on relevant strategic and topical areas;Driving SACOME's involvement in priority policy areas that promote growth and sustainability of the resources sector across SA;Identifying, exploring and facilitating opportunities for cross-sector policy dissemination, driving informed strategic debate relating to key sector issues;Authoring and preparing industry-supported submissions to government-on-government policy, new legislation, and reviews of legislation;Designing and implementing strategic advocacy campaigns to influence government and other stakeholders.Applications are encouraged from executives with proven experience in policy development and advocacy at a strategic level. Formal tertiary qualifications in Law, public policy, politics, economics, or a related field will be highly regarded. Previous experience gained within either government or an industry association, with demonstrated experience in the analysis of key issues and the framing of policy to address those issues is preferred. Well-developed communication skills to facilitate liaison with a broad range of stakeholders and the ability to manage a range of competing priorities and interests at the same time are essential.
