About Auckland Cricket AssociationAuckland Cricket is the largest Major Association in New Zealand and is charged with the responsibility of growing, developing, and promoting the game of cricket within Auckland, from elite level to grassroots. The organisation works collaboratively with a network of clubs and schools across the Auckland region, and New Zealand Cricket, to grow a love for the game and foster talent to create the next generation of Aces and Hearts on the domestic stage, along with Blackcaps and Whiteferns on the international stage. The association, players and staff have a proud history of success, and this pivotal leadership role will drive the associations ambition to be at the forefront for performance and talent cricket programmes in New Zealand.Role SummaryAs General Manager Performance & Talent, you will take responsibility for leading the High-Performance programme, providing direction and support for our key personnel covering the male, female, talent identification and development, and player and coach development programmes. The role will drive the strategic direction of the high-performance department to deliver on its aim to be the largest producer of domestic and international talent in New Zealand through an individualised approach that supports consistently performing teams.You will be responsible for creating an integrated, aligned, and collaborative high-performance network that drives long term development within our high-performance system. Your role will be critical in developing and growing strong relationships that will aid in this key strategic goal, including with our main partner, New Zealand Cricket.Desired Skills and ExperienceA proven track record in professional high performance sporting environments.Ability to lead strategic planning, execution, and delivery.Strategic programme design, delivery and assessment experience including the development and management of annual strategic and operational plans.Prior contract / list management or negotiation experience would be an advantage.Business acumen to include budget management and delivery, financial application to specific programmes and review.Strategic leadership including progressive people management to drive a professional development culture.Ability to influence others and constructively challenge if/when required.Strong communication skills and ability to develop strong relationships with a very diverse group of internal and external stakeholders.Relevant tertiary qualification within sports management or business.This is an opportunity to lead the strategic direction for Auckland Cricket and drive the performance and talent programmes to ensure sustainable success on and off the field.
