Globe 24-7 has been engaged to identify and secure the role of General Manager for a global mining company, on a renowned Australian operation, leading a large team. This is a role of paramount importance and is remunerated accordingly to attract the very best; with a generous overall package that would equate close to a seven-figure sum.

The RoleThe General Manager, reporting directly to the CEO and collaborating closely with the Board, holds overall responsibility for the leadership and management of the operation. This role involves overseeing strategic, operational, and financial aspects of all site activities, with a focus on achieving safe, sustainable, and profitable results.
As a key member of the executive team, the General Manager plays an essential role in shaping the mine's future while ensuring adherence to safety, environmental, and community standards. This presents a unique opportunity for a seasoned leader to foster operational excellence at one of Australia's most renowned mining sites.
The post is the succession planning to ultimately move into the Chief Operations Officer role, in the fullness of time, for the right individual.

The RequirementsA Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.At least 15 years of leadership experience in mining, with a minimum of 5 years in a Senior Site Executive role; ideally with a strong underground experience.Proven knowledge of Australian WHS legislation, environmental regulations, and corporate governance.A Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or an equivalent postgraduate qualification is desirable.Project management certification (e.g., PMP or PRINCE2) is desirable.Advanced skills in financial management, operational analytics, and business intelligence tools, is desirable.Demonstrated success in leading and developing high-performing teams, with an emphasis on succession planning and employee engagement. The RewardsGenerous salary; with cash components, to include a large basic, and annual incentives, in the vicinity of $700k AUD.A Residential OR FIFO option, from any Australian point of hire.
