General ManagerCompany: Illawarra Coke CompanyLocation: Illawarra Region, NSW About Us: The Illawarra Coke Company is focused on rehabilitating former industrial sites in the Illawarra region, including the Coalcliff Coke Works and Kembla Coal & Coke mine site. We are seeking an experienced General Manager to lead the transformation of the Coalcliff site. This role is part-time, and can be constructed flexibly to suit the appointee's needs.About this role This new position is an outstanding opportunity for career progression while maintaining flexibility, which may also suit a senior professional considering retirement.Key Responsibilities: - Develop and execute a rehabilitation and redevelopment strategy for the Coalcliff site.- Develop and manage the site budget.- Manage site works, delivering to budget and timelines, while ensuring adherence to quality standards.- Navigate planning and environmental laws, securing necessary permits.- Build and manage relationships with stakeholders, including the local community, Wollongong City Council, Transport for NSW and other government agencies.- Lead a multidisciplinary team and ensure compliance with NSW safety regulations.Skills, Experience and Qualifications: - Degree qualifications in civil engineering and/or geoscience.- 15+ years of professional experience, including 5+ years in senior management.- Proven track record in managing civil construction projects successfully, with experience in site remediation and land development.- Direct responsibility managing safety performance.- Familiarity with NSW planning and environmental laws and regulations.- Experience in stakeholder management and budget delivery.- Leadership experience with multidisciplinary teams.For more details or a confidential discussion, contact Malcolm Duncan at
