General/Business Unit Manager (CEO & General Management) We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to lead a NSW based transport distribution company. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in transport distribution management, sales and a passion for driving efficiency and customer service. Develop and implement a strategic plan to achieve the company goals and objectivesOversee daily operations, ensuring optimal performance and cost-effectivenessDrive revenue growth and profitability through new business development - customer acquisition and retaining and growing existing customer baseManage and optimise the company's supply chain and distribution networksDeep understanding of fleet management, optimisation and expansion to meet demandEnsure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standardsOversee Safety Management Systems and ensure ongoing compliance and continuous improvementLead and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of continuous improvementImplement and maintain quality control systems to ensure service excellenceEffectively assess current and future locations for expansionAnalyse market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities and threatsManage relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and partnersOversee financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control measuresKey Education and Experience Requirements:Bachelor degree, preferably post graduate exposure in management, marketing and/or supply chain managementSeveral years of experience in the distribution industry, with at least (5) years in a senior leadership role with experience in salesProven track record of successfully managing a transport distribution company or divisionStrong understanding of supply chain management principles and best practicesExperience with transport distribution software and technologiesDemonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic initiativesExcellent leadership and team management skillsStrong financial acumen and experience in budgeting and financial planningExceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilitiesOutstanding communication and negotiation skillsExperience in managing national operations is a plusKnowledge of relevant industry regulations and compliance requirements.
