Bennetts Green, Newcastle, Maitland & Hunter NSWGeneral/Business Unit Manager (CEO & General Management)Full timeWe have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced General Sales Manager to join our client; a successful family-owned multi-franchise dealer group based in Bennetts Green.The focus is to ensure the profitability of the dealership by overseeing all business functions, planning, leading, and coordinating the management team through effective leadership and good management principles.This position is an 11-day fortnight and will offer the right candidate an attractive retainer, car, tools of the trade plus commission.Responsibilities include:Liaising with all areas of the business, working closely with management to ensure strong performance and facilitate decision makingStrategic input into the sales targets of the dealershipPaying close attention to daily operations, recommending and creating improved courses of action where necessaryHiring all management positions, completing performance evaluations regularly and developing short- and long-term goals for each departmentPlanning and developing short- and long-term goals annually and submitting projections to the Dealer PrincipalEffectively communicating with the Group Accountant at least weekly to review departmental forecasts and ensure consistency with annual projectionsDemonstrating advocacy of company and dealership policies and procedures and ensuring that all employees understand and complyProviding dealership management with weekly reports on the financial condition of the dealershipEnsuring a good working relationship with lending institutionsOverseeing the recruitment and compensation plans for the dealershipCreating cost-effective advertising programs and merchandising strategies for the dealershipStaying informed about employees' progress and performance through both formal and informal methodsEnsuring that all team members are treated fairly and that working environments are safeBuilding collaborative relationships within the dealership, network, and the communityMonitoring guest preferences to determine focus of sales effortsContributing to budget preparation and approving budget expendituresTo be successful in this role you must have:A minimum 2 years' experience in a General Sales Manager role and minimum 5 years in a supervisory positionA minimum of 5 years' experience within an automotive dealershipHighly developed knowledge of the automotive industryExceptional leadership and development skills across a diverse groupKnowledge of business management skills involved in planning, resource allocation, and coordination of people and resourcesAbility to understand profit and loss statementsAbility to contribute to building a positive team spiritA great opportunity, so if you have what we are looking for, we want to hear from you!
